Default what is the best way to work out your hand odds?

I have read about working out your hand odds, some say you should work them out on 52 cards always. Others say work them out on the remaining cards.
If I am on a 10 player table, I have 9 or hearts and 10 of hearts. 1 player is in with me and the flop has dropped jack of hearts, queen of spades and four of hearts. I now have an open ended straight draw and a flush draw. I’ve put my opponent on ace queen. To win the hand I need, any 8 any king or any heart. There is four 8 outs and four king outs. 4 of 13 hearts out on the board and in my hand and the 8 and king of hearts leaves 7 more possible hearts to draw. this gives me 15 outs. would you work it out as 15 out of 52 or 15 of 29 cards left in the deck? I have read that you do it both ways... which do you think would be best?
